Blue Table Painting

As most of you can see, I refer to Blue Table a lot throughout my posting, showing pics of stuff they have done for me, and I also have their link on my page. I am a pretty new client to them, I am sure they have ones that employ them a lot more, but I have been nothing but impressed with them from the get go. Their founder, Shawn, is a great guy, probably one of the nicest people I know. I would just like to put it out there, that if you need any painting done, these guys are very reasonably priced, especially for professionals, and get the job done quick and perfect. There customer service is the best you will find. I know that I plan on using them more in the future too, so if you need some help painting, give them an email. Below are some more pics of items from them, I got the halforc duelist for my dogs of war army, and the dryads, well, lets just say they came from a great American!

Warband complete!

Alright ladies and gentlemen, here it is! I am done! I did not think it was possible, Brock, paint? No way, I thought I was doomed to pewter and plastic guys forever! But no, with some inspiration from a good friend, and a little bit of free time, I have done it. I painted all of the models on here, cept for the highspeed wizard, (compliments of blue table paint) and the militia men, but they are not that great, I could probably have done them myself in half a day, but they are the right colors for militia, so what the heck. Here are the stats of my army:

5 Knights Panther of the Inner Circle w/1st knight 146
mortar w/3 man crew 75
5 crossbow militiamen 40
5 crossbow militiamen 40
Level 1 wizard 60
Captain w/full plate and shield 60
9 swordsmen w/duelist 73

total 494

There it is! now I just need to engage in a little battle to see how they roll! Enjoy the pics!

One more guy to go!

Alright, my duelist for my swordsmen is complete! I really wanted to make him stand out from the rest of the guys, so I used and extra dogs of war guy I had laying around for him, and made a few modifications to make him fit in alright. And no, I did not draw out the shield design, it is from an old high elf sheet I had laying around, and it matched his colors so I thought why not? This leaves me one guy to complete, my general, then my 500 point war band will be done, and I can start working on a wood elf one!

New army update!

Hello kids, I have very good news! My unit of 10 swordsmen are finally done! That is right, instead of getting on here and telling you what I was doing next, I just went ahead and did them! Oh, and my waywatchers are done from the folks at blue table, very excellent job on them I might add! Just when I start to think that I can paint somewhat decent, they shoot me right back into the ground. Oh well. I also ordered a tight wizard that I found on their website, to be in my warband. So......... my mortar is done, knights done, swordsmen, minus my duelist, he will be done soon!, crossbows done, now all I have left to do is the mounted champion, and of course the duelist, and my 500 point war bands is complete! Below I have included pics of the swordsmen, wizard and waywatchers! Enjoy!

Knights Panther Complete!

Finally............, after many days of not painting, or painstaking detail, my knight squad is complete for my warband! This makes 2 full units now! Lets add some points here, 75 for my mortar, and 146 for my Knights Panther, all whom are knights of the inner circle, and one of them a first knight. That gives me 221 points to my total goal of 500! Almost half way there. I moved some troops around, and kicked out my unit of knights of the white wolf, and instead opted for a mounted champion, dismounted wizard, and a body guard of 10 swords men for him. I still have about 75 points to play with, so I am thinking either a unit of crossbows, or a unit of great swords............ As for my next project, I am not sure, I go to the field for a day tomorrow, so I will decide out there, and let ya know! Enjoy the pics.

Captain Sigmar Spikes the Rat Slayer is born!

Wow, after almost a week of not doing anything at all, (because I was in the field, and have to go back again for a week!) I have completed my first knight model! And, he happens to be the leader of my 500 point warband army. Flattered by Jordan naming his general after me, I though I would go ahead and return the favor! I am pretty happy how he turned out, and really impressed with the blade on his sword, how I made it fade like that. I spent a lot of time on him, to make him look pretty good, since he is my general. Now I just have to pump out 4 more knights, and this squad will be complete! Look for next weekend to have them all done!

The skaven heard the ground rumblin'.............

And then they saw 5 riderless horses! Lol, ok that was really corny, but here you go, my 5 horses that I am going to use for my knights panther unit. I don't like how GW painted all the new knightly orders up, all the horses are the same color, so I reverted back to the old school method, and am making very distinct differences between them. I will probably follow the same guidelines as far as color schemes for the white wolves, but instead of blue, I will of course use red, and maybe go with some brown horses. I am REALLY pleased how these came out though, won't be long before there are 5 knights sitting on them!

I know you are gonna dig this

Here it is boys and girls, the complete mortar with crew! I am really happy how this project turned out! The guys and the war machine look really good, and they are ready to go for the fight! I did all of these and only used 10 simple colors, so I know I won't have to purchase any more paints to paint my empire army, well, at least till I get to my wizard. Now though, I must start on my units of knights. I have 5 Knights Panther, and 5 Knights of the White Wolf to paint. I don't like how they paint the new models, so I am gonna go old school with them, and stick to the blue as the main color for the panthers, and red as the main color of the wolves. This should be very interesting, I am gonna do the "assembly line" method, and do them all at once, since they will have the same color scheme on all of them. My next pic should be of 5 battle ready Knights Panther!

ah, my first little guy!

Alright here he is, and he is ready for war! For my first model, I think that I did pretty good. I used a lot of really basic colors on him, but what really made the difference I think was the flesh wash. My mix on his legs was to heavy, but after I put it on, I kinda liked the look, looks like he has been through a battle. This piece really built up my confidence, I have always thought of my artistic skills on the same level as a 3rd grader, but I think I am moving in the right direction, and putting out some decent models. It is gonna be great, I am gonna look good pounding skaven into the ground, and turning bones into dust!

Time to cool the foundry fires..........

Ok, I could not resist pumping out another hardcore piece of midevil artillery, so here it is, a empire great cannon! I stuck with the same color scheme as the mortar, but got the barrel on the cannon a little lighter. I still have a couple of artillery pieces that I could do, but I think now that I have chosen the colors for my army, blue and red, I will work on the crew members for these two pieces next. After that, I see some knights panther calling my name I think...........

Straight from the foundries!

Ok, I did not do the warhawk rider first, I have been reading up on the empire latley and have really been impressed with their war machines, so instead I opted for a mortar! I tried to base it off of a cannon set I saw in the empire book, and I feel I came really close to it, just did not get the gold color on the barrel, and probably could have went with a darker silver color. But, for my first model I am really happy with it, and I still have 1 other mortar, and 2 great cannons I am gonna paint, so hopefully I will improve. I have some more stuff to add to the base, ie, static grass, cannon balls, and other stuff to spice it up, so I will repost a pic of it when I get the base all fixed up! This project ended up taking me about 8 hours!
