My second step.....

Ok I talked the talk, now I have to walk the walk. I just made a 106 dollar purchase of the GW site, for some new paints, brushes, bases, and other stuff like static grass. (Compliments of some good people off of poker stars!) I also picked up some inks, I think they will be the key to my stuff looking good! Since I have the expert advise of my buddy Jordan to guide me, I am feeling pretty good that this will be a good venture! I think that by doing this chariot first is a mistake, I think I will try my hand at a more simple model. Now I just have to decide what one! People have told me that woodelves are some of the hardest models to paint, so instead of the chariot, I will do the hero on a warhawk. The model is actually a OOP warhawk, with a first generation woodelf hero on top of it. Well, now all I gota do is wait on the supplies to get here and I will get started!

List of all my models

Ok first thing is first, I need to inventory what all I have:

Woodelves:

1 treeman
1 chariot
1 mounted mage
1 hero on a hipogriff
1 hero on a warhawk
2 mounted lords
7 glade riders w/full command
10 way watchers /way watcher lord
19 archers w/full command
36 scouts w/full command

That is it for my woodelves, I also have a Dog's of War army, Empire army, and for 40k I have a Imperial Guard army, and a Catchan Jungle Fighters army. I am gonna get my woodelf army done first though, so I will concentrate on it. My treeman is painted, complements of Jordan for my B-day, one of the mounted lords is done, 6 scouts are painted, the musician of the glade riders is done, and all of the waywatchers are being done by blue table painting, thanks to a trade for a forest dragon. My first project will be my chariot then, which I will start on tomorrow. I have included a pic of it, it is a wicked conversion in my eyes, since they don't make a chariot model for the woodelves, but have it in the army list. So I took it upon myself to make on. I will also slap a few pics of other woodelf model's I have painted up on this time.

Alright, lets start this off like any good web page. My name is Brock Eckstein. I have been doing this kind of gaming since the Hero Quest days! (And yes I still have hero's quest........) I really got started though with the great game of Blood Bowl. My grandma got me a 50 dollar gift certificate to a hobby store, saw the game and decided why not? So me and a couple of friends start playing it, and get hooked. We noticed Warhammer for the first time when we got one of those little business card sized fold down broucher's. After seeing the prices for the stuff, we said no way! We will stick to BB. But, I could not resist, and my very first purchase was a box of 8 woodelf archers. The madness started there. With the woodelves, I bought the Warhammer box set, (way back in the day when highelves and goblins came in it). My friend, he started in on dwarf's, why I will never know, I don't think he has ever won a game up until this day. After that, we got another friend hooked on Bretonians. So now there was three. But hey, I could not be happy with just one army, so I collected from all! How we would play is everyone would just throw all their model's into the middle, and everyone would pick one at a time, kinda like picking for dodgeball, and of course the dwarfs were always last pick. Sometimes armies consisted of Orian, the Empire War Wagon, and a unit of Chaos Warriors, plus many other mix and match guys. Then a friend came along, that actually read the rules for everything, and got us set on the right track, starting with the Thorskins Island Campaign, in which I will always claim my wood elf army of nothing but archers was by far the best in the wars! They also proved how useful a fallen treeman can be against an over-confident Bretonian knight! From then on we did all sorts of cool stuff, Blood Bowl leagues, Warhammer Quest, we even got into 40k. After highschool though, we all went our seperate ways, me joining the army. I got a couple games while I was deployed to Korea, but I kinda sputtered out after that. Well, when I got back, and got intouch with good friends again, I was hooked once again. And yes, I am that guy on Jordan's page that always had the non-painted guys. Now, that will change. I have cut down on the size of armies, and I will field fully painted armies now, either by me painting, or someone else! On my page, I will show pic's of my armies, and give a list of what I have to fight with. If you live in the Colorado Springs area, give me a message, I am always looking for a game!
